German rock band Rammstein has announced the first stadium tour in its 24-year history. It kicks off May 27-28 with two back-to-back shows at Veltins Arena in Gelsenkirchen, Germany, before visiting some of Europe’s most iconic cities.
Rammstein’s “Europe Stadium Tour 2019” follows the release of the bands first album in almost 10 years. The as yet untitled work is expected to drop in spring, right before the band embarks on its biggest journey yet, as far as the venues are concerned.
The 40,500 capacity Estadio RCDE in Barcelona, Spain (June 1), the 40,000-cap Paris La Défense Arena in the France (June 28) and the 64,000 capacity Saint-Petersburg-Stadium in Russia (Aug. 2) are all on the list.
Besides Gelsenkirchen, where the tour commences, Rammstein will also play back-to-back nights at the 32,000-cap Rudolf-Harbig-Stadion Dresden, Germany (June 12/13), as well as at the 21,000-cap Eden Aréna in Prague, Czech Republic (July 16/17). All dates below.
Rammstein is renowned for its spectacular live shows, which usually feature a excessive use of fire and pyros. The band intends to take it to another level on the big stadium stage.
The band hasn’t been touring over the past year, working on new music in the studio. On Sept. 17, the Rammstein posted an update on its website, announcing that the new album was “almost done.”
The last box office report, Pollstar received from Rammstein dates back to July 1, 2017, when the band sold 14,161 tickets for its gig at T-Mobile Arena Las Vegas, NV, grossing $1,457,103.
The presale for the “Europe Stadium Tour 2019” launches Nov. 8 exclusively on CTS Eventim. Only Munich’s strong regional seller München Ticket was allocated additional tickets for the June 8 show at the city’s Olympiastadion.
Ticket buyers will have to enter their names on the tickets, and resale is only officially sanctioned through Eventim’s Fansale offering.
