APA Signs Hologram Producer Eyellusion Worldwide
Eyellusion, producer of live-music hologram shows like “DIO Returns” and “The Bizarre World of Frank Zappa,” has signed to APA for worldwide representation.
“Ahmet [Zappa] and Jeff [Pezzuti] have a distinctively different take on the visual aspects of producing these shows that I find very exciting,” Steve Martin, partner and co-head of worldwide music at APA said in a statement. “Plus, I always wanted to be Frank Zappa’s agent, and I get to work with Ronnie and Wendy Dio again!”
The Ronnie James Dio hologram show recently wrapped a European leg and is scheduled to hit the U.S. in 2019. Eyellusion premiered its Dio hologram at the 2017 edition of Pollstar Live!
The Frank Zappa hologram tour is set to jump off in 2019 and was briefly the subject of controversy between estranged brothers Ahmet and Dweezil Zappa.
Eyellusion also recently announced it will be producing a Glenn Gould hologram tour in partnership with Primary Wave Music Publishing.
Holograms were all the buzz after the Tupac hologram made an appearance alongside Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre at Coachella in 2012. The Japanese holographic performer Hatsune Miku is drawing major crowds around the globe now, and competing company Base Hologram puts on a Roy Orbison holographic tour, with an Amy Winehouse hologram coming soon.
