German Court Upholds Rejection Of CTS Eventim/Four Artists Merger

The Higher Regional Court in Düsseldorf, Germany, upheld a decision by the country’s competition watch dog Bundeskartellamt (BKA) regarding the merger between CTS Eventim and Four Artists.

CTS Eventim had announced the acquisition of German promoter Four Artists in March 2017. However, in November that year, the BKA denied the merger, citing Eventim’s market dominance.

CTS Eventim appealed the decision at the Düsseldorf court, which has rejected the appeal, upholding the BKA decision. A CTS Eventim rep said the company was currently examining the court’s explanation.
