Raised In Space: Music Tech Investment Group Forms With Backing Of Scooter Braun, Zach Katz

Raised In Space Enterprises has launched as an investment vehicle focusing on music tech solutions, founded by Scooter Braun’s Ithaca Holdings, industry leader and former President of BMG, Zach Katz, and Ripple’s Xpring.

The announcement states Raised In Space will investment between $500,000 to $5 million toward much-needed innovation “across the entire value chain” including creation, fan engagement, touring and ticketing.

“The relationship between music and tech has massive untapped potential,” noted artist manager Scooter Braun said in a statement. “I’m excited to launch a company focused on bridging these two industries in a transformative and actionable manner that raises the value of music.”

Rounding out the core Raised In Space team is Forbes “30 Under 30″ tech and music entrepreneur Shara Senderoff. 

Katz’s experience includes championing artists’ causes as a music attorney, manager and label founder most recently as president of BMG, and joins Raised In Space as CEO and partner.  

“Writing the check is easy. Hands-on guidance, time, and strategy is the real investment,” Katz stated. “There has to be consistent collaboration and conversation – we get into the bones of these companies to help them see and reach their highest potential. We will unify the most forward-thinking leaders (the outliers, the out of this world thinkers who feel like they were raised in space) in both music and tech to foster community and ideas that will ultimately catapult the music industry into the future.”
