Live at the BRIT Awards 2019

The 1975 took home two BRIT Awards at last night’s ceremony at The O2, London: British Group and British Album of the Year for A Brief Inquiry Into Online Relationships. Jorja Smith, last year’s Critics’ Choice winner, won British Female Solo Artist, while George Ezra won in the male category.
The international winners, none of whom were present to pick up their trophy, include Ariana Grande (International Female Solo Artist), Drake won his second BRIT Award in the International Male Solo Artist category, following his first win in 2017. The Carters were crowned International Group.
One guest from overseas did show up, though: Hugh Jackman, who opened the award ceremony with a “Greatest Showman” performance. The night was hosted by comedian Jack Whitehall.
Tom Walker was crowned British Breakthrough Act, Calvin Harris won Best British Producer and also British Single for “One Kiss” feat. Dua Lipa.
Harris was also one of the live acts of the evening, performing three of his recent collaborations with

The 1975 live on stage

The BRIT Awards 2019 also hosted performances from George Ezra, Jorja Smith, Jess Glynne with H.E.R., Little Mix, the winners of the British Artist Video Award, with Ms Banks and The 1975. Pink closed the show with a four song medley following the presentation of her Outstanding Contribution to Music award.
Unsurprisingly, Ed Sheeran won the BRITs Global Success Award for a second year in a row. Since he was currently on tour in South America, he couldn’t pick up the award in person.
