Europe Lineup Roundup: Rock Werchter Completes Lineup, Roskilde Adds Rock Legends
Rock Werchter, one of Belgium’s flagship events, has completed its lineup for the 2019 edition. Robyn, Bear’s Den, Richard Ashcroft, Denzel Curry, Beirut, Portland, SWMRS, The Slow Readers Club, Donny Benét, Grace Carter, The Murder Capital and John J. Presley are just a selection of the latest additions.
They’ll be joining Pink, Tool, Mumford & Sons, Muse, Bastille, The Cure, Florence + The Machine, New Order, Elbow, Bring Me The Horizon, Macklemore and many more that have already been confirmed over the past weeks.
Rock Werchter founder and CEO Herman Schueremans said: “The jigsaw puzzle is complete. The team worked hard at it for months. Rock Werchter 2019 presents a very diverse mix of the best of today with top headliners, powerful rock, singer-songwriters, tremendously good pop acts, cool cats, fresh talent… The line-up includes plenty of surprise and variation. Rock Werchter 2019 takes place June 27-30.
Denmark’s biggest event, Roskilde Festival, just added rock legends Bob Dylan with his band, Robert Plant & The Sensational Space Shifters as well as Led Zeppelin to an already impressive lineup.
Black Eyed Peas, The Sugarhill Gang, Patti Smith and Band, Sólstafir, Vök, Hatari and more are all part of Secret Solstice‘s phase-two lineup. The festival goes down June 21-23 in Iceland’s capital Reykjavik.
Another festival that just released its phase-two lineup is Neighbourhood Weekender, which takes place May 25-26 at Victoria Park in Warrington, England. Joining Richard Ashcroft and Primal Scream are White Lies, The Twang and The Futureheads, who will celebrate their first festival appearance in six years at the two-year old event.
Swedish metal icons In Flames launched their own festival in Borgholm last year in partnership with Live Nation. Dubbed Borgholm Brinner, this year’s second edition, Aug. 2-3, features Opeth, Architects, At The Gates, Witchcraft, Of Mice & Men, Hardcore Superstar and the founders themselves on the bill.
Sónar, one of Spain’s biggest festivals, just announced that Bad Bunny, Lil Uzi Vert and New York house music greats Louie Vega and Honey Dijon will join A$AP Rocky, Skepta, Disclosure (DJ set), Paul Kalkbrenner, Arca, Kaytranada, Dixon, Vince Staples and many more to Barcelona, July 18-20.

OFF Festival in Katowice, Poland, Aug. 2-4, added Suede as headliners. They’re joined by the Masecki Jazz Trio, Polish punk legends Dezerter, Superorganism and more. Already confirmed: Aldous Harding, Neneh Cherry, Daughters, The Gaslamp Killer, Electric Wizard, The Comet Is Coming, Perfect Son, Phum Viphurit, Black Midi, Boogarins and Lebanon Hanover, Loyle Carner, Lotic: Endless Power and others.
Standon Calling 2019 also added a couple more names since last week, including Róisín Murphy, Mahalia, Emma McGrath and special guests Friendly Fires.
Anne-Marie and Tinie Tempah were revealed as headliners of Sundown Festival in Norfolk. Taking place between Aug. 30 and Sept. 1, the lineup also features Jax Jones, Mabel, Jonas Blue, Ella Eyre and many more.
Fairport’s Cropredy Convention in Oxfordshire, England, celebrates its 40th anniversary this year. Headline acts for 2019 include The Waterboys, Frank Turner and host band Fairport Convention. Other major acts include Gogol Bordello, Seth Lakeman and Richard Thompson.
A major innovation for 2019’s Cropredy Convention is ‘glamping’ in pre-pitched luxury bell tents.
