Jackie Knobbe Joins UTA

Comedy agent Jackie Knobbe has signed on with UTA, bringing clients Tiffany Haddish, Lewis Black, Jeanne Robertson and Leslie Jones.

“I was drawn to working at UTA because their comedy touring business is second to none,” Knobbe said in a statement. “There are valuable opportunities that exist for my clients across the agency and I look forward to joining such a collaborative team.”

Knobbe comes from APA, where she worked for almost 20 years. Prior to that she was at Irvin Arthur Associates.  She will be based in Florida.

“Jackie and I began our careers together as agents and I’m looking forward to working with her again at UTA,” Nick Nuciforo, UTA partner and head of comedy, said in a statement. “She is one of the most experienced agents in the business, and we are thrilled to welcome her to our growing team.”

Nuciforo left APA in 2005, moving to CAA. UTA’s comedy division grew when he and nine other comedy agents – including John Sacks, Susie Fox, Joanna Scott, Mackenzie Condon and Chelsea McKinnies – jumped to UTA in 2015, prompting a lawsuit that was settled earlier this year.

More recently UTA hired Georgie Donnelly in London and Mark Gordon, who was scheduled to move to New York from Los Angeles in March.

Haddish signed with UTA for Film, TV and writing representation in March.
