Europe Lineup Roundup: Bring Me The Horizon Announces Only UK Show In 2019
Rock Werchter, June 27-30, previously announced that its lineup was complete.
“However, there was a certain amount of dissatisfaction surrounding the curtailed programme for the Thursday, and we were keen to resolve that,” a statement released by the festival’s organizers reads.
Which is why they added “some Belgians we’d like to see, some strong women and an extra dose of rock ’n roll,” in the form of Mogwai, Black Box Revelation, Zwangere Guy, Miss Angel, Palace, Geike, The Vintage Caravan and Georgia. Ibibio Sound Machine joins the programme for The Slope stage on Sunday.
“And with that, the line-up for Rock Werchter 2019 is now really complete,” the statement continues.
In Helsinki, Finland, Flow Festival’s Balloon 360° stage showcases world-class jazz, topical African sounds, folk music and much more. This years lineup includes “Californian psych-folk sensation Jonathan Wilson, rising London-based rapper Flohio, Makaya McCraven, a jazz drummer and composer from Chicago, legendary saxophonist Pharoah Sanders with his ensemble and with two sets, up-and-coming afro jazz star Nubya Garcia, as well as Turkish clarinet virtuoso Cüneyt Sepetçi.”
South African seven-piece BCUC, East African DJ Kampire, Tanzanian duo Bamba Pana & Makaveli, as well as some top names in Finnish jazz, like saxophonist Timo Lassy with drummer Teppo Mäkynen, minimalist experimentalists Katu Kaiku, and Elifantree are also part of the lineup.

Bring Me The Horizon will play their only UK headline show at All Points East in Victoria Park, London, May 31. It also marks the band’s debut festival headline performance, according to Promoter AEG Presents.Sleeping With Sirens will also play its only UK show in 2019 at APE.
The 1990s-inspired Cool Britannia Festival in England, Aug. 30-Sept. 1, added Echobelly to its main stage lineup.
Tramlines Festival grew its comedy lineup in the second year of adding comedy to the mix. The latest additions include Phil Jupitus and Reginald D Hunter, Shappi Khorsandi, Andre Vincent, Alistair Barrie, Daniel Muggleton and Thomas Green.
The second wave of acts for Iceland Airwaves, which takes place in Downtown Reyjkavík, Nov. 6-9, includes girl in red, Ólöf Arnalds, Penelope Isles, Gabriel Ólafs, Free Love, Pottery, Ivan Dorn, Pip Blom, Niklas Paschburg, Hugar, JFDR, Seabear, Mammút and more.
Nashville Meets London Music Festival added Noah Guthrie, Foreign Affairs and Twinnie to the 2019 edition in Canary Wharf, London, July 27. Headliner Lauren Alaina was already announced, as were Sarah Darling and Robert Vincent.
The festival was launched in 2016 in support of Country and Americana music with the mission “to expand on the cultural and economic exchange of music while driving more synergy between the recording and live performance industries in the United States and the UK,” according to a description.
