Spanish Festivals Sónar And Paraíso Join Forces
Advanced Music SL, the promoter of Sónar Festival in Barcelona, has bought a stake in Paraíso Sonoro SL, the company behind Paraíso Festival, which takes place for the second time this year in the Spanish capital of Madrid.
The aim of the partnership is to collaborate in developing content and business strategies. Both festivals will maintain their teams, and continue to be run by their respective directors.
Sónar takes place for the 26th time in 2019, July 18-20, featuring performances by ASAP Rocky, Disclosure (DJ Show), Bad Bunny, Arca, Four Tet, Maya Jane Coles, Skepta, Paul Kalkbrenner, among others.
Advanced Music also organises Sónar+D, the congress on creativity and technology running in parallel with Sónar.
Paraíso will celebrate its second edition, June 14-15, in Madrid, integrating music, art, gaming and gastronomy. The artist lineup includes Solomun, CHVRCHES, Charlotte Gainsbourg, Laurent Garnier, Rhye, Mount Kimbie, Peggy Gou and IAMDDB.
Advanced Music directors Enric Palau, Sergio Caballero, Ventura Barba and Ricard Robles released as joint statement, saying: “We are especially pleased to work side by side with [Paraíso director] José Morán and his team. We’ve known each other for 25 years, we’ve separately created festivals that have become reference models; now, together, we share a new and stimulating creative challenge”.
