Pollstar’s Gary Smith Announces Retirement

After 38 years of building Pollstar into the leader in concert industry data and the premier trade publication of the live entertainment industry it is today, Gary Smith has announced his retirement, effective June 30.

Along with founder Gary Bongiovanni, Smith led Pollstar from its early days of providing printed pages for subscribers to assemble in their own binders, to a weekly print magazine, to the launch of Concert Industry Consortium and the Pollstar Live! Conference & Awards, and the establishment of the company’s online presence. 

Smith’s career will be celebrated with a special tribute in Pollstar‘s 8/5 issue.
