Goldenvoice Unveils Lineup, New Location For Tropicalia Festival
– Tropicalia
Tropicalia Festival returns to Southern California for its third edition in November with promoter Goldenvoice promising “tunes, tacos and good times.”
After taking place at Queen Mary Park in Long Beach, Calif., the last few years, the festival is relocating to Pico Rivera Sports Arena Grounds in Los Angeles Nov. 9-10.
The lineup celebrates Latin music and Chicano rock, with a heavy dose of indie pop/rock on Sunday. Many 2018 performers are returning for this year’s festival including Kali Uchis, Chicano Batman, Sonora Dinamita, Boy Pablo, The Marias, Omar Apollo, Summer Salt. Cuco, who was supposed to play last year but had to back out because of “unforeseen circumstances,” is set to take the stage in November.
Goldenvoice – the promoter behind acclaimed festivals such as Coachella, Stagecoach and Hangout Music Fest – came on board at Tropicalia with the 2018 event.

In addition to the new location, this year for the first time Goldenvoice has partnered with Los Angeles-based food/culture website L.A. Taco to curate the vendors for Tropicalia 2019. The fest’s website says that with L.A. Taco’s “deep relationships with the city’s hottest taqueros … Tropicália’s selection of vendors will represent a diverse group of taco styles from all over SoCal.”
