Asked what advice she’d give someone who wants to be a tour manager, Angie Warner recommends: “Start at the bottom! To be good you really need to know what everyone else’s job entails.” Warner, who is currently tour managing for Post Malone with PostyCo Touring, started as a runner in 1997, working shows in North and South Carolina.

After getting the opportunity to join NSYNC’s “No Strings Attached Tour” in 2000 as a second production assistant, she “was hooked” and from there was offered jobs including production assistant, backstage coordinator, stage manager, repping VIP packages on tour, and assistant tour manager.

She landed her first tour management gig on the “Dancing With The Stars Tour” in 2007. Warner says “staying ahead of the artist’s wants and needs” is one of the biggest challenges of the job, adding, “It’s easy to do once you figure them out but I’m always prepared with a backup plan … other than that – finding a night to really sleep!”

One of her favorite moments as a tour manager was getting to be part of the entire 2014 Grammys with Imagine Dragons, including their performance for the broadcast. “They worked so hard to get to that point that the emotions were flowing once they walked off stage.”
