Time to spark up in celebration – the Doobie Brothers have extended the routing for their 50th anniversary tour due “to overwhelming fan excitement.” Last week the band announced that Michael McDonald was hitting the road with the bros, marking the first time he had toured with Tom Johnston, Pat Simmons and John McFee in nearly 25 years.

The previously confirmed routing kicks off June 9 at Coral Sky Amphitheatre in West Palm Beach, Fla.
The new round of gigs boasts 23 additional shows with stops including Kansas City, Mo.; Boise, Idaho; Fresno, Calif.; New Orleans; Albuquerque, N.M.; and Memphis.
“Next year our tour will include Tom, John, and myself, along with Michael McDonald, and the fans will have a chance to hear all our hits, as well as deep cuts, and new material. I know these will be very special performances,” Simmons said in a statement.
