As a booking agent also running his own MAC Agency, Andrew Lieber has made a name for himself by spotting and representing some of the hottest stars in hip-hop, including the recently deceased Juice WRLD last year and DaBaby this year.

“It’s pretty cliché but if you’re passionate about something and believe in it, you will find a way to make your dreams a reality,” Lieber says. He always seems to find a way, too. “For instance, I recently flew out to Miami with one-hour’s notice and six figures cash in my backpack to beat out one of the major agencies for an artist.”

It requires a certain level of hustle and thick skin to compete as an independent booking agent. 

“It’s tough being the underdog going up against the bigger buildings but that’s how it has been since I got into this industry,” he says. “I just lower my head and work hard for my clients and let my work and the deals I bring speak for itself.” Lieber says he plans to make sure his artists follow an upward trajectory.

 “It definitely helps that my genre of focus is the most popular genre of music in the world,” he says.
