Ariana Grande’s “Sweetener World Tour”

Shauna Nep helps develop social impact initiatives tailored to artists represented by SB Projects, the management company founded by Scooter Braun, which she explains “was founded with the principle that a social good element be integrated into every single thing we do.” One example of a “social good element” is the work Nep’s done for SB Projects on behalf of HeadCount, a nonprofit voter registration group that partnered with Ariana Grande’s “Sweetener World Tour” to not only register young people to vote, but to educate them about the tools at their disposal to act. “We’re utilizing every resource of the tour to increase our impact – a booth on the concourse, a pre-show video, shout outs on stage, you name it.” 

Their efforts resulted in HeadCount’s most successful artist tour since 2008. Nep says more than ever, social impact is becoming a core part of business rather than an afterthought. “And Gen Z expects as much. Right now, my kind of position at an entertainment and media company is very rare, but in five years I expect that every music management company will have an in-house head of social good.”
