Joe Litvag has joined Danny Wimmer Presents as President of Live Events, the company announced Monday.
In his new role, Litvag will oversee DWP’s festivals and concerts while leading the company’s expansion into fields such as national touring and venue management and booking.
“I couldn’t be more thrilled to join my great friends at DWP,” Litvag said in a statement. “This team has built an incredible business, and it’s poised for explosive growth going forward. I’m excited to be a part of it!”
Litvag arrives from Blackbird Presents, where he’d served as Partner and President of Live Entertainment since May 2019.
Prior to his tenure at Blackbird, Litvag spent 15 years as Senior Vice President at AEG Presents, where he expanded the company’s Midwest presence, helped to build several large-scale festivals and worked with some of the colleagues he will now rejoin at Danny Wimmer Presents, including the company’s namesake. At AEG, Litvag, Wimmer, DWP Senior Executive Vice President of Talent/Curation Gary Spivack and former partner Del Williams co-created and launched festivals including Ohio’s Rock on the Range, North Carolina’s Carolina Rebellion and Wisconsin’s Northern Invasion.
Litvag began his career at St. Louis’ Contemporary Productions, eventually moving to SFX Entertainment and Clear Channel Entertainment before landing at AEG.

“Getting Joe on our team is a move we have wanted to make for a long, long time. Joe’s experience and leadership will be essential to our success as DWP continues to invest in new opportunities,” Danny Wimmer Presents Chief Executive Officer Danny Hayes said in a statement.
In late 2019, Danny Wimmer Presents announced Metallica would headline its 2020 festivals. Those events, however, were pushed to 2021 due to the coronavirus pandemic. In the interim, the company launched the “Offstage With DWP” archival streaming series in June.
