He’s now doing the same of Electronic Labor Day and the people of Beirut.

Sept. 13 will mark 40 days of mourning after the gigantic blast shook the Lebanese capital. Alongside the material damage estimated at over $15 billion, the livelihood of thousands of individuals and families has been diminished.

The fundraiser is organized and promoted by Electronic Labor Day (ELD), which was conceived as a digital electronic music festival with the goal to monetarily support non managerial staff, which has been the worst affected by the employment bans imposed by governments in reaction to Covid-19.
The first Electronic Labor Day edition was hosted on this year’s May 1 weekend, and sought support for Lebanon’s ailing nightlife industry, which was struggling with an ongoing economic crisis, Covid-19 lockdown measures and ensuing financial distress.
For the Sept. 13 fundraiser, dubbed “For Beirut”, ELD is collaborating with Beatport ReConnect and Carl Cox.
The raised funds will go to three initiatives: Bebw’shebbek supported by ULYP, Beirut Emergency Fund and Disaster Relief for Beirut Explosion Fund.
The “For Beirut” fundraiser will begin at 1.58 p.m. EEST (Beirut time) on Sunday, with a moment of silence, marking the timing of the blast, after 40 days of mourning.
The minute of silence is in honor of nearly 200 victims who have lost their lives, others still buried under rubble, and all those who have been injured by the blast.
The DJ sets will ensue at 2 p.m. EEST, ending at 2 a.m. EEST. Some 100 international artists will play sets, the streams will be broadcast across multiple rooms, which can be accessed through the ELD website, Beatport Twitch as well as the ELD Facebook Page.
About the charities:
Beirut Emergency Fund: a coalition of Lebanese diaspora organisations, LebNet, LIFE, SEAL, Jamhour Alumni (US/Europe) and Kuwait-America Foundation, are focusing on supporting non-profit, non-governmental organisations that are working to meet the humanitarian needs among vulnerable populations impacted by the explosion in Lebanon. These include shelter, food, medical supplies, physical and mental health, as well as mitigating any environmental damage.
Impact Lebanon are raising funds for ongoing relief efforts through their Disaster Relief for Beirut Explosion initiative with a rigorous NGO vetting process. The most important selection criteria for the NGOs is that they are apolitical and non-sectarian, are registered and recognised, have ongoing initiatives to address the crisis and have passed an audit test.
Bebw’shebbek is now dedicated to rebuilding the doors and windows of homes that have been impacted by the explosion through a volunteering team of experts. They have already undertaken 500 homes, with a goal to fix 150 homes every month and the ultimate objective to repair 3,000 homes.
Beatport has been running charity events in order to rase money for Covid-related relief since March, raising more than $350,000 in the process.
