With touring banned, artists are staying in touch with their fans via digital means.
A$AP Ferg, who released his latest album Floor Seats II Sept. 25, will perform the album’s songs live for the first time on MelodyVR’s “Live From LA” series.
The show can be accessed Oct. 22 at 6 p.m. PST/9 p.m. EST/2 a.m. + 1 day BST on the MelodyVR app on smartphones or VR headsets.
A$AP Ferg commented: “This is the first performance I have done since the pandemic started, and I will be performing Floor Seats II live for the first time ever.
“My concert with MelodyVR is allowing me to get super close with my fans – I get to talk to them and walk them through each song – that’s why this is different than any other performance. I am bringing the club to your living room or kitchen – I want to see you turn up in the kitchen!”
The “Live from LA” A$AP Ferg show will be available to purchase on-demand on the MelodyVR app immediately following the free live broadcast.
– Frank Carter of Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes.
The band is about to play its first virtual show, recorded and live streamed from Brixton Academy in London, England.
MelodyVR allows users to choose between different camera angles, a feature Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes also intend to make use of when they perform live from London’s Brixton Academy, Nov. 13.
Dubbed “Brixton By Request,” the concert will be the live debut of tracks from the band’s upcoming Blossom Deluxe release, out Oct. 23.
Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes already have a history with the iconic London venue. They recorded their first live album there, called 23 Live at Brixton Academy, released in March 2018.
“Brixton By Request” marks their first fully virtual show. The band promises “interactive elements [that] have never been done before.” Tickets, which start at £10 ($13) are on sale at LiveNation.co.uk.
