Oak View Group Adds Four At Moody Center

Oak View Group has filled management positions in venue operations, booking, marketing and finance at Moody Center, the new University of Texas arena set to open in Austin in April 2022.

Tim Vogt, vice president of arena operations, has 25 years of experience running arenas, including Enterprise Center in St. Louis, home of the NHL St. Louis Blues, and BOK Center in Tulsa. Vogt also worked at Infinite Energy Arena in Duluth, Georgia, and Pensacola Bay Center in Florida.

Michael Owens, vice president of booking, most recently served as assistant general manager of Chesapeake Energy Arena, where the NBA Oklahoma Thunder play. Previously, Owens was director of live entertainment for Canucks Sports & Entertainment at Rogers Arena in Vancouver, British Columbia.

Veronica Cantu, vice president of marketing, oversees public relations and marketing. Cantu worked in corporate sales for the Dallas Cowboys and Dallas Mavericks, and on the brand side with Anheuser-Busch, Nestle and Dell. 

Ansel Gardiner, director of finance, has more than 25 years of experience, most recently the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles. He also worked at the Tucson (Arizona) Convention Center, Spectrum Center in Charlotte, North Carolina, and Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida.

Moody Center, a $340 million project, will have a capacity of 15,000 for concerts and 10,000 for Texas men’s basketball.
