Earlier this week Maluma announced a 23-date arena tour of the U.S. for fall 2021 as part of “Papi Juancho Maluma World Tour.”

The general onsale begins today and to mark the milestone Pollstar asked Maluma’s manager Walter Kolm of WK Entertainment several questions about the tour.

Why did your team decide to be one of the first to announce a North American arena tour, despite all of the challenges that come with being one of the first?
Plain and simple … Fans miss live touring! I agree that there are a lot of challenges in being one of the first but we have faith in Maluma’s fans! It’s been a tough year for everyone and Its important to spread positive energy and what better way than with live music!

What are some of the challenges you are facing with planning this tour?
Obviously the biggest challenge is COVID and the uncertainty surrounding everything still going on. COVID compliance, is very important to us and have been working with our touring company and all the individual arenas in each market to make sure all protocols are followed when the time comes.

What are some unique opportunities presented by this situation for Maluma and the team?
This situation is one that none of us have ever seen. That being said it also opens up the chance for our team to be creative in how the show will be [presented], the stage, the creative, the way we are marketing the tour will be different than previous tours. Its challenging but I’m confident that our team is up for that challenge!

Walter Kolm is the founder of WK Entertainment and WK Records. He previously founded the Radio Tripoli label and was president of Universal Music Latino & Machete.
