Marc Anthony Livestream Marred With Technical Difficulties; Temporarily Available For Free
– Marc Anthony
Marc Anthony’s “One Night Only” livestream was bogged down by technical difficulties, leaving the artist promising refunds for all fans and temporarily making the show available for free on YouTube.
The show was scheduled for April 17, and was to be a major livestreaming event with lots of production, camera work and fanfare. However, when showtime came Marc Anthony’s fans were unable to view the show through the platform Maestro.
Anthony later issued several statements in English and Spanish apologizing for the technical failures, which he said were caused by overwhelming demand, and he promised fans full refunds.
“We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience,” promoter Loud and Live wrote in a statement. “We have coordinated with the ticket companies that will be sending a statement and will begin the 100% immediate and automatic refunds from today, for the event that was not carried out yesterday.”
The show was made available on Marc Anthony’s YouTube channel for 24 hours for free, beginning at 5 p.m. ET on April 18.
The technical issues disrupted what was setting up to be one of the livestreaming events of the year, as organizers previously told Pollstar they were selling lots of tickets all over the world, marketing the event like a pay-per-view event with a huge response. The video had garnered more than 4 million views on YouTube at press time.
