Marc Anthony Announces Dates For August-December Tour
– Marc Anthony 2021 Tour
Marc Anthony has unveiled the routing for his first tour since COVID brought live events to a halt, with a 23-city outing that kicks off Aug. 27 at AT&T Center in San Antonio, Texas.
Presented by Cárdenas Marketing Network (CMN) and MAGNUS, the tour will see the Latin superstar returning to some of the most prestigious arenas in the country including Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C.; StateFarm Arena in Atlanta; Barclays Center in Brooklyn; the Forum in Inglewood, Calif.; and AmericanAirlines Arena in Miami. Anthony is also playing two nights in Canada with shows at the Bell Center in Montreal Dec. 3 and Scotiabank Arena in Toronto Dec. 4.
A ticket presale begins Wednesday, April 28 at 10 a.m. local time and the general onsale starts Friday, April 30 at 10 a.m.
VIP tickets will be available including reserved premium seating, a dedicated entrance, merchandise gift, commemorative VIP laminate, and a parking pass.
Over his three-decade career in the music business Anthony has racked up over 30 Billboard chart hits and more than 7.1 billion views on YouTube along with receiving countless gold and platinum RIAA certifications. He’s continuing to support his 2019 release Opus, which marked his first new studio album in six years. Opus won the Grammy for Best Tropical Latin Album, as well as nominations for Favorite Tropical Album at the Latin American Music Awards, Album of the Year at the Lo Nuestro Awards and Tropical Album of the Year at the Billboard Latin Music Awards.
Anthony joins Latin artists such as Maluma, Los Ángeles Azules and Alejandro Fernández and Zoé leading a return to touring in 2021. Bad Bunny has plotted a massive tour starting in February 2022.
Henry Cárdenas, CEO of CMN – who is also promoting Maluma and Bad Bunny’s tours – said Spanish speaking artists are undoubtedly rising to the occasion and taking a central role in the country’s live business.
“The Latino [audiences] are showing up, thank God,” he told Pollstar during an interview for this week’s cover story on Maluma’s 2021 tour. “And it’s not just [CMN], it’s managers, producers and performers. They are saying, ‘We want to go out and be pioneers. We want to tell people the live industry is still alive and we are ready to go.’”
Before COVID shut down touring Anthony played a run of shows in early 2020. Reports submitted to Pollstar’s Boxoffice include a Feb. 21, 2020, show at the Spectrum Center in Charlotte, N.C., that sold 12,997 tickets and grossed $1,394,908.
