Yola opens for Greta Van Fleet at O2 Academy Glasgow in Scotland November 6, 2019.
Following a fall 2021 run with Chris Stapleton, Yola will head out for her own 2022 headline tour across the U.S., including two nights at Nashville’s historic Ryman Auditorium, Chicago’s landmark Thalia Hall, Atlanta’s state-of-the-art The Eastern, Birmingham’s Saturn and more.
Tickets go on sale on Friday, Aug. 13 at 10 a.m. (local) and with an exclusive Spotify Fans First presale on Aug 11.
Yola stated, “Considering how much fun we’ve had playing Stand For Myself live on these returning summer shows, I cannot wait to get out on the road in February and see all of your beautiful faces as we play songs from this record and more.”
The announcement comes after standout performances this summer at Newport Folk, Newport Jazz as well as her Red Rocks debut, co-headlining with Orville Peck.
Yola released her anthemic sophomore album, Stand For Myself, on July 30, and recently performed on “The Late Show With Stephen Colbert.” The LP was produced by Dan Auerbach of the Black Keys.
Yola made the cover of Pollstar last year in January before COVID hit, saying her music is about more than genre.
“I say ‘screw genre’ because certainly when it comes to the hindrance of people of color in music – powerful people, especially white men in music, are still guiding the perception of black artists and the direction,” she said for the feature.
Her 2022 tour plans kick off with an appearance at Brandi Carlile’s “Girls Just Wanna” weekend, a four night all-inclusive concert vacation at the Hard Rock Hotel in the Riviera Maya Feb. 1-5 in Puerto Aventuras, Quintana Roo, Mexico. Headline dates are booked from Feb. 8 through April 27, followed by an appearance at Stagecoach Festival.
The tour announcement notes that COVID-19 practices and regulations are constantly changing and the tour and team will continue to monitor the situation, although fans should be prepared to provide proof of vaccination or negative COVID tests.
“We all want to get back on the road, but we want to do that safely and in a way that ensures sustainability for our industry.”
Box office reports submitted to Pollstar for Yola include a Feb. 8, 2020, show at Scoot Inn in Austin, Texas, that sold 975 tickets and grossed $19,500.
