Midnight Oil Announces Final Tour

“Having always tackled every tour like it’s the last – this time it actually will be,” said singer Peter Garrett, adding, “We’ve reached people in ways we never could have imagined. Our desire to create and speak out is undimmed.”

It’s not the end for the members of the iconic band, which since the late ‘70s created global waves with anthems about social injustice, indigenous rights, nuclear nightmares and environmental issues.

A statement emphasised: “Each member will continue their own projects while remaining very open to recording new music together & supporting causes they are passionate about.”

Frontier Touring has the group booked at nine Australian arenas February 23 to April 21 with four A Day On The Green winery shows in between, and three New Zealand arena shows May 7 to 13.

In 2017 Midnight Oil returned from a long hiatus for an epic  “Great Circle Tour,” selling out 77 shows in 16 countries. 

Reports submitted to Pollstar‘s Boxoffice for Midnight Oil include a March 20, 2021, show at Mt. Duneed Estate in Waurn Pond, Australia, that sold 12,613 tickets and grossed more than $1.2 million.
