Dispatch and O.A.R. Announce Summer 2022 Co-Bill Tour
– Dispatch & O.A.R.
Come next summer, Dispatch will be hitting the road with O.A.R. for their first-ever North American co-headline tour. The trek kicks off on July 15 at Mesa Amphitheatre in Arizona and wraps up at The Pavilion at Toyota Music Factory in Irving, Texas, on Sept. 10.
Despite the tour marking the first time Dispatch and O.A.R. have shared a co-bill, the bands have frequently appeared on the same lineups.
“Dispatch has always been a name on our white-board wish list for bands we wanted to tour with,” O.A.R. sax player Jerry DePizzo said in a statement. “It’s almost as if we’ve existed in parallel universes. We both came up through the ranks and cut our teeth playing colleges and small clubs throughout the Northeast and Midwest. It’s taken a few years, but the stars have finally aligned. We’re looking forward to this because we feel both audiences will be excited as well. We should have done this a long time ago.”
Dispatch released its eighth studio album, Break Our Fall, in May, with the record garnering critical acclaim. Meanwhile, next year marks a special occasion for O.A.R. as the band celebrates 25 years together. O.A.R. is working on the follow-up to its eighth studio album, 2019’s The Mighty. In November the band released the single “Alive.”
“I’m certainly looking forward to this experience,” DePizzo said in a statement. “There are some beautiful anchors and moonshots in place in order to celebrate not only the history of where O.A.R. and Dispatch have been, but where we’re going.”
The co-headline tour is expected to hit 37 markets with stops at Los Angeles’ Hollywood Palladium, Atlanta’s Coca-Cola Rocky, St. Louis Music Park, Nashville’s Ascend Amphitheater and Pittsburgh’s Stage AE.
“We’re grateful to still have our family of fans, health, friendships and a chance to continue making music,” Dispatch’s Brad Corrigan said in a statement. “Gonna be good.”
