– Olivia Rodrigo
SOUR tour
The red-hot Olivia Rodrigo has announced her first tour, after becoming one of the most popular artists in the world during COVID, with 48 dates in the U.S., UK and continental Europe starting in April.
Her “SOUR Tour,” named after the star’s 2021 LP, kicks off April 2 at the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium in San Francisco, with dates including two-night runs at Radio City Music Hall in New York, the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles and others, before eventually wrapping with two nights at Eventim Apollo in London, UK on July 6-7.
Special guests are Gracie Abrams (April 2 – 23), Holly Humberstone (April 26 – May 25) and Baby Queen (June 11 – July 7). The Verified Fan sale is open now through December 7 at 11:59pm PT, with public ticket on-sale beginning Dec. 10.
Rodrigo is fresh off of her win at the American Music Awards, Rodrigo also has seven nominations for the 2022 Grammys, including Record Of The Year, Album of the Year, Song Of The Year, Best New Artist.
Upon its May 2021 release, SOUR scored the most U.S. audio streams from a female debut album ever and broke the record for the most-streamed album in a week by a female artist in Spotify history with over 385M global streams.
SOUR also landed at the top of Spotify’s recently unveiled annual 2021 “Wrapped” campaign, which highlights the platform’s most streamed artists, songs, albums and podcasts. With over 1.1 billion streams, “driver’s license” was the top streamed song of 2021 on Spotify (both in the U.S. and worldwide), while Rodrigo’s “good 4 u” also landed in the top five most streamed songs list on Spotify, with SOUR earning the number one spot as the most globally streamed album. Rodrigo also was named Variety’s “Songwriter of the Year” and earned Apple Music Awards for Breakthrough Artist of the Year, Album of the Year and Song of the Year.
As one of the biggest artists to break out during the COVID shutdown, fans have been dying to get a chance to see her live. WME’s Peter Schwartz told Pollstar how excited he was about the artist signing with WME.
“We’re super excited that during COVID we signed Olivia Rodrigo, whose single ‘Drivers License’ came out this past Friday and it was the most streamed [in a day] on Spotify by any artist ever,” Schwartz said in January. “It’s incredible. Unbelievable. Within 48 hours of the release, the song was No. 1 on Spotify, U.S. and global, iTunes, Apple, every single streaming platform had her at No. 1, and it’s still there on every one of them. So we are super excited about signing her. As with all my artists, we do everything in teams at WME. That team is Dave Tamaroff, Ben Schiffer and myself who did the initial signing. And the entire company is super excited about her. And just this incredible start to her career with this single really making such awesome impact. ”
