Slipknot Is Bringing Knotfest To Germany In 2022

Ten years after the first editions of Knotfest in then States, Slipknot’s own festival is coming to Germany, where it will take over Rudolf Weber-Arena in Oberhausen on July 30.

Slipknot itself will headline the German premiere of Knotfest, Swedish progressive metal stalwarts In Flames and the genre-bending Ghostemane from LA have also been confirmed. 
The final bill will feature ten bands – “an aggregate of the most engaging artists in the genre”, according to the announcement – who will perform across one open-air stage in addition to the main stage in the arena.
In addition, the Slipknot Museum will be present on site, with arts & culture installations adding an interactive element for the 25,000 fans expected to convene.
Knotfest Premium Members will have access to a special pre-sale for Knotfest Germany tickets on Monday, Dec. 13 from 2 p.m. CET. The general on-sale is set for Dec. 14 at 12 p.m. CET.

Live Nation promotes the premiere of Knotfest Germany. Rudolf Weber-Arena is the new name of ASM Global’s 13,000 capacity building in Oberhausen, formerly known as König-Pilsener-Arena, a mainstay on Pollstar’s Year End Top 200 Arenas chart based on worldwide ticket sales. The new naming rights deal becomes effective on January 1, 2022.

The German premiere won’t be the first time Knotfest takes place on European soil. In 2019, Knotfest met Hellfest in Clisson, France. A UK edition was scheduled for 2020, but had to be scrapped for well-known reasons.
Slipknot have also exported their festival to Japan, Mexico and South America, where it first took place in Bogota, Colombia, in 2019. Two new editions in Brazil and Chile, originally announced for 2021, have been moved to Dec. 2022.
