Women In Music Summit Launches Jan. 19 Featuring Keynote With Emerging Star GAYLE
– WIM Summit
The second annual Women In Music Summit takes place virtually Jan. 19-21 with more than 55 speakers representing some 40 companies across music and tech, highlighted with a keynote conversation with breakout artist GAYLE, whose hit “abcdefu” recently topped Billboard’s Global 20 chart, and Variety Executive Editor of Music Shirley Halperin.
Founded in 1985, Women in Music is the industry’s longest-running 501(c)3 non-profit committed to gender equity and now encompasses over 25 domestic and international chapters, from LA to India.

“We are so excited to bring our second annual WIM Summit to our members and partners around the world, with some of the most compelling programming to date,” WIM President Nicole Barsalona said in a statement.
“We’re kicking off our 37th year in service to the community with more members, more partners, and more volunteers committed to our mission than ever before. The Summit serves as a touchpoint to learn, connect, and celebrate the advancement of women in the industry in 2022 and into the future.”
Summit programming includes a diverse array across three tracks, from Executive Leadership, Music Innovation, to Artist Teams & Services.
The Executive Leadership track is featured on Day 1, with sessions including C-Suite Entrepreneurship; Executive Upskilling: Leading Through Change; Fundamentals of Investing with Morgan Stanley; Best Places To work in Music: Redefining Workplace Culture and The Gender Gap in Music Business Ownership.
Day 2’s Innovation Track features The Future is Now: Music in the Age of Web3; Catalog Sales 101; Meet the Leaders Behind Pandora’s Success in Country Music; Leaders of Marketing; Trends for 2022 and Beyond; and a Fireside Chat with the co-owners of Roots N Blues Festival: Tracy Lane and Shay Jasper, moderated by Sarah Pittman, senior editor at Pollstar.
Artist Teams and Services rounds out the Summit on Day 3 with sessions on Global Brand Partnership; Artists & AI: Make the Data Work for you; Music Starts With TikTok and Hit-Makers: Artist & Producer Management.
