Marc Solheim joins Riot Fest as Senior Talent Buyer
Milwaukee music industry veteran Marc Solheim will be joining Riot Fest as their new Senior Talent Buyer starting on April 1.
Solheim had spent 15 years serving as Talent Buyer for The Pabst Theater Group and worked as an independent concert promoter with Globe East, Mad Planet, the Miramar Theater and Modjeska Theater.
“I am beyond excited to join the Riot Fest team,” Solheim said in a statement. “I have been a long time supporter and admirer of the whole experience. The world class treatment of artists nad fans, the incredible line-ups year after year makes Riot Fest a can’t-miss event and I very much look forward to being a part of this world class organization.”
Riot Fest will return to Chicago on Sept. 16- 18 with My Chemical Romance and The Original Misfits announced as headliners for Day One and Day Two. The rest of the lineup has yet to be fully revealed but is expected to arrive later this spring.
The festival first began in 2005 with multiple venues, eventually expanding into Denver and Toronto until 2017. Over the years, Riot Fest has become known for helping play a key role in several bands reuniting, including Naked Raygun, The Replacements, the Misfits, and Jawbreaker.
My Chemical Romance was initially slated to headline the festival in 2021, however, the band announced that they would be postponing all shows until 2022. Nine Inch Nails were also supposed to headline the event, but also backed out of shows in 2021. Instead, last year’s event hosted The Smashing Pumpkins, Run the Jewels, Slipknot, Rise Against, Machine Gun Kelly, The FLaming Lips, Patti Smith, and more.
