Glastonbury Announces 2022 Lineup Topped By Paul McCartney, Kendrick Lamar, Billie Eilish & Diana Ross

Glastonbury has revealed its full lineup for 2022, with the event topped by Paul McCartney, Kendrick Lamar, Billie Eilish, and Diana Ross. This year will see the landmark festival return for the first time since 2019, with the event set to take place from June 22 to 26 at Worthy Farm in Pilton, Somerset. 

Eilish and Ross had previously been announced, with McCartney and Lamar filling out the Pyramid Stage headliners. Ross will be performing in the festival’s “legends slot” on Sunday afternoon. 

Charli XCX, Courtney Barnett, Doja Cat, Four Tet, Glass Animals, Haim, Idles, Kacey Musgraves, Little Simz, Lorde, Megan Thee Stallion, Olivia Rodrigo, Phoebe Bridgers, Robert Plant & Alison Krauss, St. Vincent, and more will also be joining the four headliners on the event’s lineup, with more acts expected to be announced as the festival grows nearer. 

Amyl and the Sniffers, Angelique Kidjo, Arlo Parks, The Avalanches, Beabadoobee, Bicep, Big Thief, Black Midi, Blossoms, Bonobo, Burna Boy, Caribou, Caroline Polacheck, Cate Le Bon, Celest, Clairo, Confidence Man, Crwoded House, Declan McKenna, Dry Cleaning, Easy Life, Elbo, Emma-Jean Thackray, First Aid Kit, Foals, Fontaines D.C., Gabriels, Ghetts, Girl In Red, Greentea Peng, Griff, Herbie Hancock, Holly Humerstone, Inhaler, Jarv Is…, Jessie Ware, The Jesus And Mary Chain, Joy Crookes, Khruangbin, Koffee, Leon Bridges, Lianne La Havas, Metronomy, Mitski, Nightmares On Wax, Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds, Nubya Garcia, Pet Shop Boys, Primal Scream, Róisín Murphy, Rufus Wainwright, Sam Fender, Sampa The Great, Seun Kuti & Egypt 980, Self Esteem, Sigrid, Skunk Anasie, Sleaford Mods, Snarky Puppy, Squid, Supergras, Tems, TLC, Turnstile, Warmduscher, The Waterboys, Wet Leg, Wolf Alice, Years & Years and Yves Tumor round out the rest of the festival’s lineup.

McCartney had been slated to perform at the canceled 2020 edition of the festival, with the former Beatle having last played Glathe event in 2004. McCartney will be the oldest headliner in Glastonbury’s history, with the former Beatle turning 80 just four days before the festival is due to kick-off, while 20-year-old Eilish will be the youngest headliner in Glastonbury history.

Glastonbury first began in 1970, with the festival taking place intermittently throughout the first decade of its existence. The event has been running consistently since the ’80s, save for fallow years taking place around every five years. 2018, 2020 and 2021 have been considered fallow years for the event, with the previous two mainly due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

In 2017, the event grossed more than $18 million, according to Pollstar’s Boxoffice reports.
