Another Planet’s Nick Barrie Tapped As Talent Buyer For The Bellwether, LA’s Newest Venue

Talent buyer Nick Barrie joins The Bellwether, a 1,600-capacity club from Another Planet Entertainment and Michael Swier of Teragram Presents, that is scheduled to open this spring.

Barrie, a native of Cleveland, Ohio, will lead a team charged with bringing a wide variety of music and entertainment to The Bellwether, a music room, private event space and restaurant/bar in downtown Los Angeles. 

Barrie started his live music career in 2005, moonlighting as a security guard at The Independent in San Francisco, which is booked and operated by Another Planet. He worked his way up to booking for APE’s network of venues and festivals. 

One of many career highlights includes launching the dance music-dedicated SOMA Tent at Outside Lands in 2021. 

The Bellwether marks APE’s first venue foray into Los Angeles and will house on-site offices for operational staff and the L.A. offices for the company’s management arm, Another Planet Management. 

It will feature a main music room with unimpeded sightlines, a wrap-around balcony and a custom wooden dance floor. The Bellwether will have a custom-built d&b sound system and lighting specifically designed for the venue, which includes a private event space, VIP areas, a restaurant and bar and an open-air lounge area that provides guests with a view of downtown L.A. and neighboring mountains.
