Alvvays, Alex G Announced Co-Headlined North American Tour
Indie rockers Alvvays and Alex G will hit the road together for a seven-stop co-headlined North American tour in August and September.
The tour kicks off August 23 at Prospect Park in Brooklyn and makes its way to Boston, Philadelphia, Toronto, Detroit and Pittsburgh before wrapping September 1 in Buffalo. See the full routing below.
Tickets for the tour go on sale March 3 at 10 a.m. local time.
It’ll cap a busy summer for Alvvays following the release of the band’s album Blue Rev. The band’s song “Belinda Says” landed on numerous year-end best-of lists. Before the dates with Alex G, Alvvays has a spring tour of theaters in Canada and the American Pacific Northwest, before a festival-heavy summer in Europe. The band will also play with Maggie Rogers at the Hollywood Bowl August 13.
Both Alvvays and Alex G had success in theaters in the U.S. last fall. For example, according to Pollstar Boxoffice reports, Alvvays had a 1,200-ticket, $30,000 sell-out at Washington, D.C.’s famed 9:30 Club November 11. The next week, November 16 and 17, Alex G sold out two nights at the 9:30 for a $62,400 gross.
