Live Nation Finland today announced the launch of U Nation, a two-day electronic music event, headlined by Charlotte de Witte, and Eric Prydz.

The U Nation premiere takes place June 30-July 1 on Kansalaistori Square in the Finnish capital Helsinki.

Aside from headliners Charlotte de Witte and Eric Prydz, the lineup of U Nation also features English DJ duo CamelPhat, Honey Dijon, and The Blessed Madonna from the U.S., and Finnish acts Mr. A and Orkidea.

As the lineup of U Nation shows, the event is as much about music as it is about “promoting diversity, inclusion, environmental sustainability, unity and responsibility,” as the launch release states.

The main architect of U Nation is Harri Andersson, better known by his DJ name Proteus, who started in his role as promoter at Live Nation Finland last autumn. He said, “I want U Nation to be a celebration of individuality and love, where everyone can be all that they are. I have curated the list of performers carefully and am extremely happy with our line-up.”

The City of Helsinki is a partner in the event. Sanna Forsström, head of the city’s brand, marketing, and events department, commented, “We also share Live Nation’s objectives of equality between people, environmental sustainability and the freedom to be just who you are. Helsinki wants to be a lively city attracting international travel and events, and this is an excellent example of what this aim means in practice.”
