Ed Sheeran To Perform New Record On Apple Music Live
As Ed Sheeran celebrates the release of his new album – (pronounced Subtract), Apple Music will showcase the performance as part of their Apple Music Live series. The show debuts on May 10 at noon PT and finds Sheeran at Eventim Apollo in London for an intimate set.
The National’s Aaron Dessner joins Sheeran for the performance, which features a 12-piece band. Sheeran’s new album is now available for streaming.
“I am delighted to share my Subtract album with you,” Sheeran said in a statement. “I was really nervous on the day, as it was my first time performing the new album tracks. The show was brought to life by Aaron and the incredible band, and it was an honor to stand beside them. It was an emotional night, but I am so pleased we got to document it.”
Sheeran has been out on the road for a massive stadium tour that takes him across the globe. Highlights from the trek include a $13.7 million gross for three shows at Deutsche Bank Park in Frankfurt, Germany Sept. 23-25 and a $15.64 million gross for three shows at Olympic Stadium in Munich, Germany Sept. 10-12. In the midst of his stadium trek, Sheeran announced a series of intimate theater performances celebrating his new album.
“We’re excited to present this Apple Music Live show, which offers an utterly unique perspective into how one of the world’s most popular musicians is dealing with some of the heaviest traumas imaginable,” Apple Music host Matt Wilkinson said in a statement. “It’s an emotional, soul-searching ride — but also extremely fulfilling.”
Fans can stream Sheeran’s performance on demand on both Apple Music and Apple TV+ starting at 1 p.m. PT on May 10.
