Melvins are celebrating 40 years together, and the band has unveiled a seven-week tour alongside Japanese trio Boris. The upcoming trek features both bands performing classic albums in full, with Melvins playing through Bullhead and Boris playing Heavy Rocks.

“40 years as the Melvins,” Buzz Osborne said in a statement. “What a better way to celebrate that unlikely milestone than by setting off on the ‘Twins of Evil Tour’ with our friends, Boris. This will be a stone groove!”

Last year, the Melvins toured with Ministry in the spring before setting out on a headlining tour of their own in the fall. The band recently wrapped a tour with Mr. Bungle and Spotlights, then headed overseas for their first European outing since 2018.

“Could anyone have predicted such an astonishing event, that Boris and the Melvins would tour the entire USA together?” Boris’ Takeshi said in a statement. “Since the mid-1980s, the Melvins have had an enormous influence on artists of all genres not only limited to heavy music, and have brought forth a surge of faithful followers over the years. Needless to say, Boris is just one of these many bands influenced by the mighty Melvins, and we took our name from a song title off of the 1991 album, Bullhead.”

Tickets for “Twins of Evil” go on sale starting June 9 at 10 a.m. local time. Mr. Phylzzz will be joining as the show opener on all dates.
