André Rieu Headed To North American Arenas In September

André Rieu has booked a run of U.S. arena dates concentrated in the Midwest and East Coast, followed by a handful of shows in Canada.

The acclaimed Dutch violinist and conductor will be joined by his Johan Strauss Orchestra. The setlist will feature a mix of classical, waltzes, gospels and American favorites.

North American fans are in for a treat. An announcement from Rieu’s team says his shows “feature dazzling light shows, elaborate costumes, and plenty of audience participation, making them a truly unique and immersive experience.”

The U.S. routing begins Sept. 12 at Chicago’s Credit Union 1 Arena at UIC. Stops include Detroit’s Little Caesars Arena; Elmont, New York’s UBS Arena and Boston’s TD Garden. The Canadian dates start Sept. 21 in Quebec in Centre Vidéotron, followed by gigs in Montreal, Ottawa and Toronto.

“Emotions are the key”, says Rieu. “Everybody is welcome to my concerts. We open our hearts for the audience and the audience opens their hearts for us. Every night my orchestra and I see people dancing and singing in the aisles, enthusiastic and carefree. Together we spend evenings that we do not forget. When people write to tell me that they need two-weeks to come down after my concerts, it makes me the happiest man in the world!”

The most recent box office report submitted to Pollstar for Rieu is a June 24 show at M&S Bank Arena Liverpool in the UK that sold 9,204 tickets and grossed $1,016,870 (799,804 pound sterling)
