Massive Attack are continuing their sustainability efforts as the band announces a festival completely powered by renewable energy on Aug. 25 on Clifton Downs in Bristol, England. Act 1.5 Climate Action Accelerator will not sell meat and provides locals with priority ticket access.

All touring and production vehicles will either be electric or fueled by 100% waste product HVO fuel in order to ensure the festival relies solely on renewable energy sources.

“We’re chuffed to play our home city again and to be able to do it in the right way,” Massive Attack’s Robert “3D” Del Baja said in a statement. “In terms of climate change action there are no excuses left; offsetting, endless seminars and diluted declarations have all been found out – so live music must drastically reduce all primary emissions and take account of fan travel. Working with pioneering partners on this project means we can seriously move the dial for major live music events and help create precedents that are immediately available.”

While a full lineup has not yet been announced, the festival features partnerships with Race To Zero, Enobé, Ecotricity and Train Hugger. Massive Attack are currently the only artists billed for the one-day event.
