Drive By And Take It On The Run: REO Speedwagon & Train Combine For ‘Summer Road Trip’

A combination of Train and REO Speedwagon is either a anachronistic vision of multimodal transportation or the co-headliners on a newly announced summer tour.

It’s the latter, in this case, by the way.

The 44-city Live Nation-produced “Summer Road Trip” tour kicks off on July 8 in Somerset, Wisconsin, at Somerset Amphitheater, making stops in Chicago, Toronto, New York, Houston, San Francisco, Los Angeles and more before wrapping up on September 11 in Phoenix’s Talking Stick Resort Amphitheatre. In addition, Train and REO Speedwagon will play a special show at Los Angeles’ beloved Whisky a Go Go February 1. Tickets for the show go on sale January 29 at noon PT here.

Last year, Train sold 8,214 tickets for September 2 show at Charleston, South Carolina’s Credit One Stadium, grossing $322,503, according to Pollstar Boxoffice reports. A mo month later, REO Speedwagon played Johnston, Pennsylvania’s 1st Summit Arena, grossing $219,153 on 3,274 tickets.
