In addition to being named to Pollstar’s Women of Live list, Outback Presents’ Fallon Nell got to celebrate a promotion this week. Nell, who previously served as the Senior Booking Manager, has been elevated to Vice President of Booking.

An announcement from the independent, full service promoter notes that Nell will oversee all artist bookings for country, comedy and music events.

“Fallon is the embodiment of compassion and benevolence,” Outback Presents company president Michael Smardak said in a statement.  “She is a wonderful wife to Robert and a nurturing mother to Jackson. She is honest, hardworking and has earned the respect of her peers. Her character and compassion are exemplary and inspiring, and we are extremely proud of her achievements. We are grateful to have her as a valued colleague and friend.”

As part of her write-up for Women of Live Nell discussed how she balances her work and family life, as well as her highlight of the year — putting together the first 312 Comedy Festival in Chicago.

“The festival was largely booked, ticketed and marketed by a team of women at Outback. We anchored the festival with six sold-out Nate Bargatze shows at The Chicago Theatre. It was a full circle moment for me working with our friends at Jam Productions in a city I learned the ropes covering shows in during my early days,” Nell told Pollstar. “My face hurt from laughing watching my personal favorite of the festival, Nicole Byer, from the balcony of the Riviera Theatre.”

Nell returned to Outback Concerts in early 2023 after most recently working at her alma mater, Nashville’s Belmont University, where she served as the Coordinator Coordinator of Live Events for the Mike Curb College of Entertainment and Music Business. In that role she oversaw the production of the university’s “Showcase Series” in the Curb Event Center.

She got her start in the industry as Outback Concert’s first intern, before being promoted to a promoter representative in the comedy department.

Nell went on to make the transition to artist management at Alliance Artists, followed by launching her own company with Brothers Management. At Brothers Management, she managed developing artists and provided management consulting services for independent managers.

Outback Presents ranked No. 8 on Pollstar’s 2023 Top 100 Promoters list with 3,695,442 tickets sold and a gross of $292,069,428.60.
