ASM Global Appoints Lindsay Arell As Chief Sustainability Officer
On the heels of forming a partnership with r.World to roll out reusable service ware across its North American venues by 2025, ASM Global is doubling down on sustainability with its most recent hiring. The venue management company announced the appointment of Lindsay Arell as chief sustainability officer, ramping up its efforts to make all 400 of its venues more sustainable.
“As ASM looks to continue its leadership and commitment to sustainability,” ASM Global CEO and President Ron Bension said in a statement. “Lindsay who is known throughout our industry as a thought leader is the perfect person to assume this role.”
Arell has worked with professional sports teams, venues and live events for two decades. She founded Honeycomb Strategies to help companies find more sustainable solutions and developed the ASM Global Acts program that promotes social equity and global sustainability. Arell was also instrumental in the ISO 20121 certifications for SoFi Stadiums and Lincoln Financial Field and founded the Sustainable Sports Index, a first-of-its-kind initiative that gathers self-reported survey data to analyze the environmental and social practices of sports venues in an effort to create a benchmark for the industry.
“I’m thrilled at the chance to spearhead ASM’s sustainability initiatives working alongside our teams and communities across our over 400 global venues,” Arell said in a statement. “By providing our venue teams with the necessary knowledge and resources, we can accelerate the progress of our program significantly.”
ASM Global has more than 50 green-certified venues in the world, and with Arell’s new post, the company will look to increase that number following the announcement of partnering with r.World to utilize its reusable services at every North American venue.
