Creative Artists Agency has opened applications for the fourth edition of The Hubb, an invite-only networking and career development summit for college students interested in careers in the music business. The summit takes place at CAA’s Nashville office Oct. 13-15 with the aim of providing students with tools and resources needed to get into the industry including the opportunity to interact with executives and engage in professional development workshops.

This week’s announcement from CAA adds that “Participants in The Hubb will have access to exclusive experiences, such as a Q&A with a top-selling music artist, visits to leading companies in music, and the opportunity to meet with key executives, as well as time with agents and executives from CAA.

“They will leave with a deeper understanding of varied sectors of the business, including label operations, business management, A&R, marketing, artist management, touring, and live production. Recruiters will also host workshops, providing attendees with insights into the tools and skills needed in today’s job market.”

The Hubb was first launched in 2018 and named in honor of beloved industry veteran Barbara “Mother” Hubbard, who has helped countless students pursue careers in the performing arts through scholarships via her American Collegiate Talent Showcase (ACTS).

HUBB co-creators and CAA music agents Sabrina Butera and Meredith Jones previously explained that the summit was created “because we saw two things – there wasn’t a robust student conference that covered all aspects of music, and there was a lack of BIPOC and LGBTQ+ representation on teams in the industry.”

Applications for The Hubb are open now through May 31, 2024.
