NIVA ’24 Conference Announces Full Programming Schedule

NIVA ’24, the third annual gathering of the National Independent Venue Association, takes place June 3-5 in New Orleans with a slate of events at iconic NOLA venues including Generations Hall, Republic NOLA, Preservation Hall and Tipitina’s.

The live independent entertainment industry gathering in the Big Easy kicks off June 2 with an opening party presented by Lyte followed by three days of current event programming with members of Eventbrite, National Independent Talent Organization (NITO), Wasserman, United Talent Agency, Live Music Society, Spotify and Meta among others. The conference also features nightly entertainment with George Porter Jr. & Runnin Pardners, Paul Reed Smith’s Eightlock, Rebirth Brass Band and Tank and the Bangas. 

NIVA ‘24 networking sessions, panels and fireside chats cover an array of topics impacting the live entertainment business including ticketing, operations, programming, marketing, non-profits, PROs, safety, staffing, sponsorships and advocacy including an opening sessions and state of the independent live entertainment discussion with Stephen Parker, executive director NIVA, Jamie Loeb, conference chair, Andre Perry, NIVA board president, Hal Real, founder & CEO of World Cafe Live and National Independent Venue Foundation (NIVF) board president, and Julia Hartz, co-founder and CEO of Eventbrite.

NIVA ’24 programming highlights the New Orleans chapter of the organization including a keynote on June 3 moderated by David Kunian of the New Orleans Jazz Museum with panelists musicians Kermit Ruffins of Kermit Ruffins and the BBQ Swingers and Kermit’s Treme Mother In Law Lounge, Tarriona Ball of Tank and The Bangas, Rob Mercurio of Galactic and Tipitina’s, and Ivan Neville of Dumpstaphunk.

NIVA’s goal is to preserve and support independent live venues, promoters and festivals
throughout the U.S. NIVA led the #SaveOurStages campaign, culminating in landmark legislation in 2020 that established the $16 billion Shuttered Venue Operators Grant program.
