Welcome to Pollstar’s 2024 Impact 50, our annual list recognizing the leaders having the greatest impact on today’s live industry. This list is made up of individuals who have shown a commitment to excel
lence, creative problem solving, strategic management, financial success, top negotiating skills, artist development and a vision for the future.
More often than not, these accomplishments are reflected in Pollstar Box Office data, but true leadership transcends numbers. In these times, it’s imperative our industry leaders fulfill a shared commitment to greater social justice, advocacy and allyship, fairness in ticketing as well as fan engagement, technological innovation and the elevation of fan experiences. Shawn Gee, who is the co-owner and president of Live Nation Urban, as well as this year’s Impact 50 Cover Honoree, exemplifies impact. He has successfully achieved his stated mission to support and build Black culture and entrepreneurship while helping nurture the next generation of leaders, many of whom will be people of color. Last year, LNU sold more than a million tickets, primarily to Black consumers, while putting on the top festivals in three major metropolitan markets: Atlanta (ONE MusicFest), Washington, D.C. (Broccoli City Festival) and Philadelphia (The Roots Picnic).
He is but one of this year’s industry leaders to be honored, which includes a wide swath of the business’ most talented promoters, managers, agents, ticketers, bookers and more. Together, they support the world’s top artists; festivals, both massive and boutique; and venues from stadiums to clubs to Sphere, while ensuring millions upon millions have peak experiences that will become lifelong memories.
