Live Nation To Operate Maraya In Saudi Arabia
Live Nation Arabia will manage operations at Maraya, a purpose built entertainment hall in Al’Ula, an oasis near Medina, Saudi Arabia.
AlUla Development Company, a Public Investment Fund Company, signed a three-year partnership agreement with Live Nation Arabia.
Maraya is the largest mirrored building in the world (holding a Guinness World Record since 2020), and uniquely blends architectural and natural beauty. The multi-purpose venue is equipped with a state-of-the-art theater, as well as expansive indoor and outdoor spaces can accommodate up to 2,000 people and host a variety of different events.
Italian star tenor Andrea Bocelli, Egyptian musician Omar Khairat, or Moroccan singer Aziza Jalal, who surprised fans with a return after a 35-year hiatus, have performed at Maraya in the past, as have Mariah Carey, John Legend, Majid Al Mohandis, Mohammed Abdo, Usher, and others.
The agreement between AlUla Development Company and Live Nation Arabia “will cement the venue’s position as a premier entertainment hub hosting a wide range of events including concerts, cultural performances, exhibitions and conferences. Live Nation Arabia will also oversee a variety of operational functions at Maraya,” the press release announcing the partnership states.
Saudi Arabia also has one of the largest populations in the Middle East, with nearly two-thirds of Saudis under the age of 30, reinforcing the impact that investing in entertainment can have in the region.
