Aiming to create a one-of-a-kind festival experience that blends diverse musical genres with the natural beauty of The Quarry Amphitheater, “Kevin Morby Presents: This Is A Festival” represents a celebration of live entertainment, creativity, and community, making it a must-attend fall fest for music lovers across the country.
Also on the lineup are singer-songwriting Jessica Pratt, who has garnered critical buzz for her latest album Here In The Pitch and recently done high-profile performances including supporting Beck at the Hollywood Bowl.
Also on the lineup are Trevor Powers. Parisian-born drummer, composer, and producer Makaya McCraven; indie-rocker Ben Kweller and alt-rock/hip-hop band Blackstarkids.
Hosting the event and serving as emcees will be Chris Black and Jason Stewart from the culture podcast “How Long Gone.”
Morby, headlining the event, will appropriately close out The Quarry Amphitheater stage, a picturesque setting set against the stunning backdrop of what’s popularly referred to as the “Red Rocks in the Redwoods”.
“Getting asked to host a festival is very surreal,” Kevin Morby said in the announcement. “It feels like a dream in which you’re trying to rationalize how all of these different people from your life are somehow in the same place at the same time. In the case of my festival, it’s an absolute dream come true: five of my favorite artists spanning the last twenty years of my life all performing at an amphitheater that will be MC’d by my favorite podcast, How Long Gone. Come watch myself, Jessica Pratt, Youth Lagoon, Ben Kweller, Makaya Mccraven and Blackstarkids share the stage of The Quarry Amphitheater in Santa Cruz this October – which is to really say – come be in my dream! It’s gonna be a blast.”
“We are grateful to collaborate with an artist as talented and creative as Kevin Morby. Having worked with him for many years now, Noise Pop recognizes how special of an artist Kevin is and we look forward to bringing his festival vision to life inside one of the most spectacular outdoor venues in all of Northern California,” added Michelle Swing of Noise Pop Industries.
Tickets start at $75, with a limited number of discount-priced tickets available for students for just $65 plus fees.
