Following a successful run of shows in the U.S., most of which sold out, Mexican comedy star Sofia Niño de Rivera announced she’s extending her “Vacaciones de Sus Hijos: Gira 2024” (“Vacation from Her Children 2024 Tour”) and returning to the States for 10 shows.

The third leg of the Live Nation-promoted tour starts Oct. 25 at Arizona Financial Theatre in Phoenix and includes stops at Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium, Coca-Cola Roxy in Atlanta, Austin’s Paramount Theater, Moore Theatre in Seattle and Pearl Concert Theater at Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas. The tour wraps up Dec. 8 at Revel Entertainment Center in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Fans can purchase tickets via presales running throughout the week beginning Sept. 11. The general onsale begins Sept. 13 at 10 a.m. local time at LiveNation.com.

Niño de Rivera embarked on a 14-city trek earlier this year, selling out 12 of those shows. Manuel Moran, Live Nation’s vice president of Latin Touring who promotes the comedian’s tour, recently told Pollstar that she sold at least 95% of tickets at every venue.

“We all had a feeling that on this one it was going to be better because she’s been working on her career doing more [comedy specials] and being more active on social media,” Moran said. “You can sense her career is growing. We feel very proud of the results, but honestly, it caught us by surprise. We were expecting decent results, but they were really good. … It’s waking us up to pay attention to a genre that is really important and it gives people a different experience.”

Known for her witty observations on life, motherhood and Mexican and American cultures, Niño de Rivera has become one of the prominent figures of Latin comedy, a genre that is on the rise in live entertainment. She told Pollstar that Spanish-language comedy is evolving and catching up thanks to social media.

“Every time we see more [Latin] comedians, we see different styles of comedy, not just stand-up, we also see content on platforms for Latinos, and it’s very much empowering the voice of Latinos and Spanish speakers,” Niño de Rivera said. “This is because, in addition to the fact that there are many of us, we have a lot of power in the market,” Niño de Rivera says. “We love to consume and whoever captivates us, we are super faithful to them.”
