Anyma Adds Two Sphere Dates, Becomes First Electronic Music Residency At Venue
Anyma has added two more dates at Sphere, expanding on the Italian melodic techno music producer and DJ’s New Year’s event at the venue. With the newly added dates on Jan. 10 and 11, he officially becomes the first dance act to host a residency at Sphere.
The DJ and music producer will perform at the venue for eight nights, kicking off on Dec. 27 and running through to Jan. 1. He’ll then return to the venue on Jan. 10 and 11, following his dates as part of Afterlife Tulum on Jan. 4 and 5 at Cenote Zamna in Tulum.
Anyma’s Sphere dates were initially announced in July, and Anyma’s booking agent at CAA, Ferry Rais-Shaghaghi, told Pollstar the shows will have been in discussion behind the scenes for 20 months by the time the first performance takes place.
“The conversation started in March 2023, where we were just trying to understand their venue and get in touch with the right people there,” Rais-Shaghaghi says. “We set up appointments to see the Burbank Studios and do a tour there. From there, putting together a presentation and plan of what we have in mind and why it makes sense for Sphere. At the end of the day, taking a techno show into a traditional venue like that is not something that happens often, let alone in a venue that just opened and is one of a kind. It’s been a year-long process, but everyone’s super excited and on board about this. I think what we have in store and what we’re about to execute there is going to be really groundbreaking.”
Following the excitement of the initial announcement for a one-off on New Year’s Eve, Anyma announced six shows at Sphere. All six dates sold out immediately. Presale for the newly announced dates begins Oct. 7 at 10 a.m. PT, with general onsale beginning Oct. 8 at 9 a.m. PT. Travel packages will be available in partnership with Vibee starting Oct. 3 at 9 a.m. PT.
