DAVIarena, Colombia’s Latest Music Venue, To Open In November With Juanes

BeatHub Entertainment, a live entertainment company that specializes in ticketing, venue operation and concert promotion, not only announced the name of its latest arena but also the artist who is going to headline its grand opening.
What was once known as Arena Primavera is now DAVIarena, with Colombian banker Davivienda scoring the naming rights of BeatHub’s Medellín venue, and global Latin rock-pop star Juanes will open the state-of-the-art building in his hometown on Nov. 14
The deal between Davivienda and BeatHub Entertainment is a milestone for the country, marking the first time a Colombian financial company is promoting a live entertainment building.
“At Davivienda, we believe in Colombia and in the transformative power of cities like Medellín: a symbol of innovation that has produced some of the world’s best artists and is now ready to attract the most important musical experiences on the planet,” Javier Suárez, president of Davivienda, said in a statement. “DAVIarena will open new opportunities for thousands of young people to experience world-class shows and envision themselves one day performing on world-class stages.”
Una Nueva Era: South American Markets Continue To Rise With New Venues
DAVIarena is a 17,200-capacity venue built to handle more than 75 events per year and backed by a private investment of 320 billion pesos (which is about $84 million) and the alliance with Davivienda. It was designed by HOK, a renowned architecture firm with buildings such as London’s O2 Arena, Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta and Valencia’s Roig Arena, and is an homage to Antioquia culture.

BeatHub’s modern venue will offer premium hospitality with 23 suites that accommodate groups of 16-30 people, a master suite for 60 people, 20 boxes designed for groups of 10-12 people and a parking tower exclusive to guests in boxes and suites. It has a rigging system that supports large-scale productions up to 140 tons, and DAVIarena was built with sustainability in mind by integrating a bioclimatic system, thermoacoustic windows and a 1,400-ton chilled water cooling system to minimize energy consumption.
“DAVIarena is a sign of confidence for promoters, artists and all stakeholders in the industry,” said Eduardo Olea, CEO of BeatHub Entertainment. “It’s the infrastructure that allows Colombia to compete at a higher level and continue to solidify its position as a key destination for international tours.”
Breakfast Live, one of Colombia’s premier music promoters, will usher in a new era of live entertainment by producing the opening concert with Grammy-winning star Juanes, a show that celebrates local talent on a world-class stage.
