Pollstar: What are your most impactful accomplishments over the last year?
Gary Guidry: One of our biggest was scaling Black Promoters Collective beyond $100 million in top-line revenue and achieving the highest revenues in company history. That growth reflects both the strength of our team and the continued demand for culturally driven live experiences.
Beyond the business success, we are especially proud of the innovative show formats we introduced through tours like Brandy & Monica’s “The Boy Is Mine Tour” and “The New Edition Way Tour” featuring New Edition, Boyz II Men and (Pollstar cover) Toni Braxton. Rather than presenting artists in a traditional opener-headliner format, we created blended concert experiences that kept fans engaged with hit-after-hit performances and seamless transitions throughout the night. We believe those tours represented a creative shift in how tours can be presented moving forward.
Where does that inspiration come from?
We’ve been inspired by the evolving approach from our venue partners like Legends Global, Oak View Group and the Venue Coalition, particularly around creating more centralized and strategic venue partnerships.
As BPC continues to scale, strong venue relationships are critical to sustaining growth and managing rising operational costs. More collaborative partnerships allow promoters and venues to work smarter together, create efficiencies at scale, and ultimately deliver better experiences for fans while maintaining healthy business margins. That level of alignment and long-term partnership thinking is something we believe will continue shaping the future of the live business.
One of the greatest rewards in this business is seeing an idea that started months earlier eventually become a sold-out arena filled with people creating memories and enjoying themselves together.
