Virtual reality concerts are fascinating for several reasons: the technology that enables it all; the continued business it promises bands that won’t tour anymore, and deservedly so; but especially because, once the avatars of iconic bands like ABBA or KISS take the stage, the audience forgets they’re not real. The power of the music fills these holographic projections with life.

Jessica Koravos joined Pophouse as CEO last summer, during a dynamic phase of growth for the company, which is one of the founding investors of the aforementioned “ABBA Voyage,” which launched in London in 2022, as well as a producer of “KISS Forever,” coming to a purpose-built venue in Las Vegas in 2028.

Pophouse recently became the majority owner in the music interests of Tina Turner, which Koravos describes as “particularly special. Acquisitions like this reflect our ambition to champion iconic artists in evolving their legacies, and to connect them with new generations of fans through a variety of formats.” Turner was also responsible for one of Koravos’ most memorable concert experiences, when she brought her “50th Anniversary Tour” to The O2 in 2009. “Tina was well into her 70s by then, but danced the socks off her 20-year-old backing dancers while belting out her hits. She was epic!”

Pophouse doesn’t just produce virtual shows. “Mamma Mia! The Party,” for example, an immersive live theatrical dining experience, celebrated its 10th anniversary in Stockholm and its seventh in London this year. “It has been experienced by nearly 1.5 million guests and is the most performed and longest-running show in Sweden,” says Koravos. “The most inspiring initiatives right now are the ones reimagining how audiences connect with artists, combining live experiences, storytelling, technology, and community through deeper, more immersive mediums. The industry is moving toward longer-term, disruptive experiences underpinned by rich, creative worlds built around an artist’s IP – an approach that is very much at the core of what we’re building at Pophouse.”
